A very simple rule for how to figure out what advice to follow and what to ignore, when building a business of any kind — and a story of how we got this very (very) wrong with Ghost.

This is probably one of the best posts I've ever written, so it's limited to members-only access. In 2019, after over a decade of writing a blog, I decided to set up Rediverge as place where I can write more openly and freely for a smaller, more specific audience.
I've been travelling the world full-time, without any sort of permanent address, since long before it was trendy to do so. In that time I've covered more than 750,000km and traversed 40+ countries - all whilst building a remote software business which, despite releasing everything it makes for free, now makes $3,000,000 a year in revenue.
